Inspiration 101: Eric Douglas Duquette

Probably one of you, while reading this has known someone in the family or friends or the extensions of them to have been diagnosed with autism as a person or child. Autism, as we all know have been one of the issues of education especially when a child enters school and the educational institutions have yet to accommodate them on their own pacing and time.

I came across the inspiring graduation speech of a salutatorian who is diagnosed with autism and his speech moved me as much as it does to hundreds of people attending their graduation in Rhode Island, New York. It was featured in ABC News.

His name is Eric Douglas Duquette and his poignant speech made me be inspired by those who live with autism. As he said in this poignant speech, “never underestimate the power of smile” and more so he is perfectly right in saying that let us not be “defined by our own limitations”. As is, your star shall shine before you.

Please, let us support people with autism. They are there to inspire us as much as they need us to make their journeys in LIFE something of a rewarding and fulfilling experience.
