The famous Khmer delicacy, Num Banh Chok
As I arrived in Phnom Penh, my Cambodian friends, I called them my brothers and sisters hurriedly have gone out to see me. We were all together in our study in China and we are family. They were gracious to show me around the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh, asked for the ticket (complimentary) and hurriedly we went off to sightsee the grandest of all palaces in Cambodia. Soon afterwards, as the night draws near, we walked passed parks where children were playing and entered into this unassuming place where I have tasted the best food in my Cambodia jaunt.

Num Banh Chok is widely a staple in all of Cambodia and their favourite so I was on the right track for my first Cambodian meal. Formally known as Num Banh Chok Samlor Praher Khmer, this food is just an awesome treat for me after the 6 hour bus ride from Saigon.
This one Num Banh Chok as indicated by my brother Lyna and Sisters Samphor and Saya is the authentic in Phnom Penh. We are having the fish soup with the kroeung.
The tasty part of the Num Banh Chok is its soup, its vegetables and the noodles. It is my first time to have tried eating water lily stems and I loved it. When you heads up to Phnom Penh, or anywhere in Cambodia, get yourself a bowl of Num Banh Chok!
