Photo Sunday: Purity at the temple

A religious follow of the CaoDai sect attends to his religious commitment in Vietnam

On a jaunt to Vietnam, I went to the famous CaoDai Temple and this is what I saw and immortalized here. This faithful man walks from his residence to attend the noon-time ceremony inside of the CaoDai Temple. As in most temples I have visited, people surrounding it exudes reverence and their faith which is inspiring and reflective. Humility is also shown in this through the man’s gesture before the imposing influence of the temple on his life and so with society.

Inspiration 103: The greatest gift of Rachel Beckwith

Sometime in August 2011, Rachel Beckwith, 9 years old passed away because of complications resulting from her being involved in a vehicular accident Washington. As was her birthday wish, she do not want any gifts but sought for donations for her Charity: Water. Her pure heart and young age has been the shining example of how love for others can truly move people, change them into better persons and come across their story which renews their spirit and Rachel’s is one that moved me, changed me, and renewed me.

Rachel Beckwith is not the typical 9 year old girl because she thought of generosity far beyond my own adult comprehension. She thought of helping others across her own home, across the seas, to strangers, to children her age and some adults like me through their need for potable water. Water is life as we define it and yes, Rachel understood this eventhough she is of her tender age.

By hindsight and in retrospect, her story made me raise some questions for many of us to ponder perhaps. What is truly our purpose in life that we continue to find it in a maze? What is it truly that define us as a person and our humanity that we continue to ignore others? What truly is important to us, getting helped or we get to help others?

Rachel Beckwith is the CNN Hero, the greatest inspiration that has made her life a shining example of how dreaming for others can help change the world and that by refusing gifts for her on her birthday and sought instead, the gifts of waters for others, Rachel has claimed for herself the status of someone who had been and will forever be in my heart: My hero and my saint.

Journeying Through 101: Help for Ezza Ramonal

We have come into more and more challenges facing us, our families and our loved ones but the least we can expect to happen can also happen to test our spirits and courage as a person and as a family. This has what happened to my dear friend Cycil Faith Guevarra Ramonal whose daughter SERGE KAREZZA GUEVARA RAMONAL contracted OSTEOSARCOMA (BONE CANCER) and is due for another major operation in Cebu City, Philippines. The family of Cycil is trying all their best to get the needed funds to fulfil their promise to their daughter to have a life full of potentials and love, however their limited resources is depleting and giving up on them.

As a friends of theirs and yours too, I would like to appeal for your kindhearted support to the family by donating any amount directly to them. Ezza needs it the most than we could ever imagine.

I can recall meeting Ezza for the first time while I was in Manila together with my wife Michelle. We were together in one occasion and I do not see in her the cancer she felt and has been fighting off because she is pretty much the same young girl anyone around whom you can see – smiling, happy, friendly, shy at times, but determined. Upon knowing she has cancer, it broke my heart into pieces because she is very young, she got a better future awaiting her and much more, she do not deserve this.

For you out there who wanted to help, you may deposit your donation to the Veteran’s Bank Account of Cycil Faith Ramonal directly. The bank account number is 0060458210100 and in Veteran’s Bank Pagadian City Branch. When you help her through me, it will be my sincerest debt of gratitude for your kindness. Just give it to Ezza and her family and she will be able to live longer and win cancer!

A gift from you to Ezza is meant to extend her life. This is how I knew best to help her keep her hopes and faith in the kindness of mankind. Let us not fail her.

I believed that when all else fail, let us never waver in rising her spirits up. We can never fail until God says we will but we can help her take on her will and that is the will God wills it for her.
