Travels 127: Journeying bicycles in China

After having arrived in our training base in Nanning, Guangxi, I went off with the rest of the Philippine delegation walking around town. I chanced upon bicycles after bicycles, orderly arranged as parked on the street creating an impressive array of bicycles used for the journeys of every man and woman in going to work, school and to the market.

Journeying bicycles in China are so predominantly leading in all facets of the Chinese life. One must also be attuned to the nature of the Chinese that they so favoured bikes and motorized motorcycles to ferry one to the other destination and come back.

It is the most convenient form and mode of transportation in China since it is very expensive to own a car vehicle with so much consumer tax being levied on cars, ergo, those only can afford can buy it so, in China, it is the journeying bicycles that rule the roads and alleyways!
