Travels 170: Jarden Maria Clara Lobregat

One of the attractions of the City of Zamboanga is the famous Pasonanca Park which also houses other equally important landmarks in the city. One of them is the Jarden dela Maria Clara Lobregat which was built in honor of the longest mayor of the City of Zamboanga, the late Maria Clara Lobregat, the most graceful and accomplished Zamboanguenea.

After visiting the BSP Camp in Pasonanca Park, we were toured around by our 7-month old pregnant friend Emma Devarela, the most gracious local host when we went there. She made us visit the famous garden where flowers bloom and a sculpture made in the image of Tita Caling, as former Mayor Maria Clara Lobregat is fondly known for.

Zamboanga is one city that truly lives with its own branding and great ambiance. Truly, it is undisputedly the Latin City of Asia where one old generation meets the present.
