Christmas of the world, the Tangub experience

Happy Christmas from Japan 🙂

Capping the year 2012 with an exhilarating trip to Tangub City, dubbed as the Christmas Capital of the Philippines and this year’s theme captured my years of travels and inspirations. It is the best way to revisit the places I had been and getting inspired again.

This year, Tangub City goes global in their Christmas celebrations and impressive are their Christmas decorations and life-size yuletide abodes of merrymaking. They are sources of inspiration by so many as far away who visited it each night since they have officially opened the year’s celebrations. Continue reading

Travels 153: Hoyohoy Highland Stone Chapel Adventure Park, Tangub’s Pride

Journeys and Travels upon embarking on his weekend solo backpacking trip to Misamis Occidental, went straight to Tangub City from Pagadian City where he resides. First in the agenda to be visited is the famed Hoyohoy Highland Stone Chapel Adventure Park, owned by Congressman Leo Ocampos. From Pagadian City, he took a Rural Transit bus plying towards Ozamis City route and alighted at the bus terminal in Tangub City, a travel that is only 1.30 hours. He then looked for a public transport to ferry him to Hoyohoy and found habal-habal driver Dondon whom he contracted for Php 200 roundtrip fare for there are no other public transport going to Hoyohoy from the city proper.

Upon reaching Hoyohoy Highland Stone Chapel Adventure Park, Journeys and Travels went directly to appreciate nature at its best. He paid Php80.00 entrance fee that covers a complimentary drink of Four Seasons and a Lomi noodles at the Cafe Negra in the HSC Hotel. Without complimentary drink and lomi, entrance fee is only Php30.00.

Afterwards, he went directly to check the Hoyohoy Stone Chapel. What one can observe in Hoyohoy Highland Stone Chapel Adventure Park is its zipline, touted as the longest zipline in Asia. Dahilayan in Bukidnon also claims the same moniker. For the zipline, it costs Php500 for 3 rides already that include two (2) zipline rides and one (1) horseback ride to the main station. He did not took the zipline as he was running out of time.

Also, what is impressive about the Park is its grand view, serene environment and peaceful surroundings. The only sounds you hear are the zipline, the laughter, the merriment and of course, the chirping birds as well as the breeze.

Journeys and Travels have found also that the Stone Chapel was painstakingly made by hand by no less than the Congressman of Misamis Occidental, a former Governor, Leo Ocampos. Also, Hoyohoy Highland Stone Chapel Adventure Park has a 8-room HSC Hotel that caters to the needs of guests wanting to stay longer days and nights. There are also camp sites that are made available for a fee of Php300 per night. A camp-fire site also sits well in the cool environment.

Hoyohoy Highland Stone Chapel Adventure Park is one destination that is a must of travel-to-do list among travellers and those taking a relaxing journey. They also have a spa at the Park.

It is one travel made that last an impression of pure bliss. Experience it yourself the way it has been experienced by Journeys and Travels.
